Welcome to Weston Favell Allotments

The site is owned by Northampton Council and is Self Managed by a team of volunteers, “The Committee”. The committee comprises 8 members who bring together a variety of skills.

The committee aims to foster a spirit of help and co operation, encourage new allotment gardeners, maintain the site in good order, preserve the site for allotment gardening into the future and organise social events for time to time.

PLASTIC PLANT PLOTS

From 31 March 2026, clean, non‑black, fully recyclable plastic plant pots will be accepted in the kerbside recycling collections. These can be placed in the household recycling bin, provided they are clean and free from soil. Black plastic pots, however, are still not accepted at kerbside due to sorting limitations.

Alongside this, Household Waste Recycling Centres (including Ecton Lane and Sixfields) will continue to accept clean plastic plant pots within the hard plastics section. This offers residents an alternative option, especially if they have larger quantities to dispose of.

To summarise:

  • Clean, non‑black plastic pots – Accepted kerbside from 31 March 2026, and also accepted at HWRCs.
  • Black plastic pots – Not accepted at kerbside, but may still be taken to HWRCs if suitable, or reused.
  • Reuse opportunities – The allotment reuse scheme is an excellent option.
